Appliance Repair Technician – Join a Growing Kansas City Company | Paid Training | No Weekends | Up to $30/hr + Bonuses
We’re not just filling a position. We’re building the next stage of our company — and we’re looking for people who want to grow with us.
Tager Appliance Repair is an award-winning, family-owned appliance repair company serving the Kansas City area.
We’ve grown by taking care of our customers, taking care of our people, and building the right systems instead of trying to grow too fast.
Now we’re ready for the next stage.
We are expanding our technician team, strengthening our training program, growing our service area, and building opportunities for the right people to take on more responsibility as the company grows.
If you're looking for somewhere you can get in, learn a skilled trade, become great at what you do, and potentially grow into something bigger over the next several years — we want to talk to you.
You do NOT need appliance repair experience.
Experience is great, but we're also interested in mechanically inclined people who have the right attitude and want to learn.
Automotive technicians, maintenance technicians, HVAC helpers, electricians, military mechanics, and people who simply have a strong mechanical background may be a great fit.
We can teach appliance repair. We can't teach dependability, attitude, work ethic, or the desire to improve.
What we currently offer:
- Starting pay at $20/hour during training
-
$25/hour during the ramp-up period
-
$27/hour once fully released and consistently running a full schedule
- Growth potential up to $30/hour
- Average week around 45 hours
-
Time and a half after 40 hours
-
No weekends
-
No major holidays
- Company vehicle
- Fuel card
- Sam's Club card
- Company cell phone
- Uniform shirts
- Specialty tools
- Full office support
- After one year: 5 vacation days + 5 PTO days
More importantly, we're building somewhere you can grow.
Our goal isn't to hire someone, hand them a van, and forget about them.
We are building a real technician development path with structured training, continued education, experienced technicians to learn from, and opportunities for strong performers to eventually take on additional responsibility, training, and leadership as we grow.
What we're looking for:
- Valid driver's license
- Dependable and on time
- Mechanically minded
- Professional appearance
- Good communication skills
- Comfortable working inside customers' homes
- Able to use a phone for job notes, photos, estimates, and invoicing
- Willing to learn and follow company systems
- Someone who takes pride in becoming good at their trade
-
Someone who wants more than just their next job
Our office handles scheduling, customer calls, parts support, and follow-up so our technicians can concentrate on diagnosing appliances, making repairs, taking care of customers, and earning a good living.
For an experienced technician, this is an opportunity to step into steady work with a full schedule, strong office support, and no weekend calls.
For someone entering the trade, this is an opportunity to learn a valuable skill from the ground up and build a real career.
Where we're going matters.
We're proud of what Tager Appliance Repair has become, but we're even more excited about where we're going next.
There will be opportunities created as we grow that don't exist today.
We want the people who help us build the next chapter to have the opportunity to grow with it.
If you're dependable, mechanically inclined, competitive with yourself, willing to learn, and the idea of getting in with a growing company sounds more exciting than simply finding another job, we'd like to meet you.
Apply and tell us a little about yourself and why you think you'd be a good fit for Tager Appliance Repair.
As an appliance repair technician, you’ll work with anything from dishwashers to microwaves to dryers. In other words, you’ll need to be fairly knowledgeable about large appliances, portable appliances, mechanical work, as well as electrical work.
You’ll deal with more than just appliances, though, as a repair technician, you’ll have to deal with people, too.
Appliance repair technicians must also have skills in high mechanical aptitude, have impeccable written and verbal communication skills, work adeptly with repair tools, be okay with lifting heavy machinery, and of course, be incredibly skilled in troubleshooting problems.
